A 2-day unique festival, titled ‘Open the Door’, for exploring the hidden talents, potentialities & creativities of children with disability arising out of mental illness, was jointly organized by Turning Point, an NGO,  working on mental health and Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) on February 10 & 11, 2018.

‘Open the Door’ programme addressed a host of issues on mental health through a variety of events such as quiz, poster competitions, seminars, drama, cultural programme, music & recitation, fashion show, film show and panel discussion. The event offered a platform to those with a disability to showcase their talents and simultaneously reach out to students, parents and teachers on myths surrounding mental health.

US Consul General Craig Hall & his wife Meeryung Hall inaugurated the programme on February 10, 2018. A large number of students from Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar, Kendriya Vidyalaya Ballygunge, Ashok Hall School for Girls, Army public school, APS Kolkata participated.
