A gallery on ‘Biotechnology’ was inaugurated by Prof. G Padmanaban, Former Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru in the presence of Prof. T G Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati & Chairman, Executive Committee of Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore on February 15, 2021.
The gallery on Biotechnology showcases interactive exhibits on different themes like the genesis of biotechnology, fundamentals of biotechnology, genetics, techniques in biotechnology and applications of biotechnology in different fields like agriculture and food, industry, and in pharmacy and medicine. The gallery also has several other exhibits to bring live the ongoing research in different laboratories in India and across countries in the world, and their contribution to the field of biotechnology through digital interactives. The visitor is also encouraged to look at the concerns in the field of biotechnology and express his opinion in the opinion poll and also play the game of quiz on biotechnology.
