A National workshop on ‘Museum Management’ was organized by Central Research and Training Laboratory (CRTL) from 17th-21st February 2014 in collaboration with EIILM, Kolkata.

The Training Programme aimed at teaching the modern concepts and theoretical foundation related to the management and operation of a museum. It was meant to address core management issues like Organizational Structure, Administrative functions, Human Resource Management, Financial Management etc- the ingredients considered for the successful operation of a visitor-oriented interactive set-up. Special emphasis was given on Museum Marketing, Public Relations and Publicity. The Training Programme also focused on various aspects of museum work that includes Management of Museum Collections, preservation, ethical & legal issues including IPR issues etc. The Programme was extremely beneficial to all museum professionals.

Total 19 participants from different organisations namely Geological survey of india, Anthropological survey of india, Sub Regional Science Centre, Jorhat, Indira gandhi Rashtriye Manav Sangrahalya, Bhopal, Regional Science Centre, Jaipur and from different units of NCSM participated in the workshop.
