As
you enter the science centre building you will be greeted by the giant "Energy
Ball" exhibit with few other fascinating exhibits. The souvenir counter offers
you fascinating scientific gadgets and kits, which make learning of science
interesting. Other exhibits explain the lightning in clouds, formation of
whirlpool, basic of energy transformation and few more principles of basic
science. |

| Evolution |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| The exhibits in this hall explain the concept of
evolution of solar system, earth, life both on earth and in the ocean, various
evolution theories put forth by scientists, evolution and developmental stages
of Man and extinction of dinosaurs etc. The concept that Man is one is
explained through interactive exhibits. Of course you can have glimpses of
stone age tools which portray the history of humans civilization.

| Man & Machine |
|
| |
Human
body is a masterpiece of precise engineering, a delicate and complex apparatus
whose various components work in unity to achieve diverse feats. The Man &
Machine exhibition attempts, through series of interactive exhibits, to compare
the human body, an incredible machine, to machines in use in our day-to-day
lives. Major attractions are 13' Walk through, working model of Heart, skeleton
cycling exhibit, physical abilities etc. You can be challenged to balance
yourself on an even bar while walking and seeing us in a mirror and to
stabilize yourself on a shaking platform. You also can check our muscle power,
reaction time, power of grip and capability to generate power. The hall also
houses a section on `Genetic Engineering' with special emphasis on the `Gene',
the basis of genetics. The panels explain the functions of Genes, their nature
and role. |

The
main attraction of hall of aerospace are mythology, history of early flying
experiments, pioneers, principles of flight, wind tunnel, Air Traffic Control,
Indian satellites and launch vehicles, Indian in Space, Mission Control Room,
Hot air balloon, Flight lab, Quiz on aerospace, Microlight and ultralight
Aircrafts, Model of Wright flyer which ushered in an era of controlled flights. |

| Our Technology Heritage |
|
| |
Since
the dawn of human civilization, different cultures from across the world have
contributed to the growth of science & technology, often through
interactions. An attempt is made in this exhibition to showcase that science
& technology in India originated and developed independently, and that its
achievements are quite as profound as their counterparts in other cultures |

| Prehistoric Animal Park |
|
| |
The
Beautiful, mystic and the vast universe that we live in, originated some 15
billion years ago out of a Big Bang. It took another 10 odd billion years for
the formation of the Solar system and our unique planet Earth. The exhibition
on Prehistoric Animal Life will enthuse and educate the young minds on the
fascinating chronological events of evolution. The exhibition has on display
scores of Robotic animals belonging to different era of evolution that roar and
move in a specially created natural like ambience. The exhibition also has
information on the process of evolution, spreading across different periods of
evolution since the Big Bang. Supplementing the exhibition is a interactive
computer kiosk that will help the inquisitive mind to explore in finer details
of the fascinating story of evolution. Pterosaur model -The new addition -
Giant flying leviathans that ruled the skies about 150 million years ago. It
casts an impressive shadow over all the other prehistoric animals on display -
in action mode, ready to strike from the air. |

| Discovery Hall
|
|
| |
Method
of science is a systematic process of observing a phenomenon, formulation of a
hypothesis and testing of the same. Hypothesis may or may not give the
satisfactory explanation of the phenomenon. Rejection of one hypothesis may
lead to a new hypothesis and its subsequent testing. This search continues till
a reliable solution is achieved through a process of discovery. A fascinating
experience is provided through a series of interactive exhibits in the
Discovery Hall. Key exhibits pose a question to the visitor, which enhances his
curiosity. Apparently water coming from a tap which is not connected to any
plumbing line, tube light glowing without electric supply, a cone going up the
hill on its own, pose mind boggling questions, but the answer lies in
supporting exhibits.

| Sound & Hearing |
|
| |
The
Sound & Hearing gallery tries to tell the story of sound & how our
brain perceives a range of varied frequencies through our ear mechanism and
auditory nerves. This hall will take you to the world of vibrations, as sound
is nothing but vibration. The exhibits explain how do we hear, how the sound
waves propagate and why, how the sound is produced and amplified and the
principles on which musical instruments work. You also get an opportunity to
synthesize your own music and to observe the Doppler effect and many more
interesting phenomena on sound.

| Light & Sight
|
|
| |
| |
Light is an integral part of our lives.
In earlier times, it was perceived that light consists of rays that travel in
straight lines from the eye to the object and the sensation of sight is
obtained when these rays touch the object, much like the sense of touch.
Through a century of research works done by several scientists, we now fairly
understand what light is and how it behaves.
The 'Light & Sight' gallery showcases the properties and applications of
light and mechanisms that facilitate our vision through interactive exhibits,
working models and multimedia presentations. The gallery also provides insight
into various illusions that we experience through our visual sense. |

|
| |
This
exhibition tries to explain the various phenomena and movements happening on
and inside the earth through interactive and working models. The gallery also
draws attentions towards the alarming issues of deforestation, global warming,
greenhouse effect etc. with a message to do something to save the planet earth.

Mechanics, Perception, and Relics from the Past. Railway Engine, Tram Cars,
Aircraft, Electric Power Generator in 8 acres green park with 200 species of
plants and Picnic Area for school groups. The park offers perfect non-coercive
and free choice learning environment away from boundaries of classroom. A
unique concept in itself, science park of NSC has become a trendsetter giving
birth to other science parks in India and abroad. |
